Bismuth, because reasons.
That hasn’t been made into a movie? Mine, but that’s greedy.
As for adaptations that should be rebooted or never have been, I’d say either Avatar, or Eragon because those movies were abysmal.
Tesla 5ever!!
I would say magenta, because of a joke in my choir, but I’m going to say beige because it’s fairly boring and simple, but there’s ample room for advancement and interpretation.
My favorite Pokemon game is Soul Silver, though that may change in a couple weeks. As for favorite game….Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess.
I’d say either Feraligatr, or Arcanine
My highest was probably having my first novel published.
My lowest was likely watching the only girl I’ve ever been close to loving making out with my best friend openly.
Sea otters, because adorableness.
Though I’ve only had it a couple times I love Indian food.
I almost never go out for dinner because I tend to work evenings. The last place I ate out at was Qdoba. Burrito the size of my head, delicious.
I have the day off, and don’t feel like drawing, so let’s start TMI Tuesday early. I’ll also accept/critique any headcanons that are sent in.
My mistake….
There is some evidence of this, partially in her coloration being nearly equidistant between Spitfire’s yellow and Soarin’s blue, but mostly in her attitude, drive and talent. Lightning’s flying ability is prodigious, and if she were the daughter of two of Equestria’s most celebrated flyers then she would be considered a legacy, not uncommon with talent. The desire to impress her mother, and father would explain her tendency to push herself further than any other, despite the risks, although this would depend in part upon her upbringing and relationship with her parents.
Not a popular fanon, or even one that I’d ever heard of. Given the implied age difference between them (Spitfire and Soarin are both portrayed as being at least a few years older than Rainbow, who is roughly the same age as Lightning Dust) it is nigh impossible.
That being said, it is possible. Magic has been shown to allow for time travel, albeit with limitations. If Soarin’ and Spitfire were the foals of Lightning Dust, and sent back in the short period that the time travel spell lasts, then it could work assuming that the spell could be severed by the one who cast it.
Sorry I can’t defend this one very well, I have never heard anything like this one.
I’ve not seen or heard of any such blog, so I can’t speak about that. As for the Canterlot Wedding, I think it was good. It had a few flaws, namely the instant inclusion of Shining Armor and Cadence without lead up, and several points of Chrysalis’s plan which paint her as overly ambitious and prideful.
I didn’t mind the ending too much, because to an extent it makes sense. The joining of Shining’s and Cadence’s magic to create the effect that it did is often panned for not making sense, but it does to a point. The diet of changelings and windigoes prove that within MLP canon it is possible for emotion to be channeled as energy. On top of that, it is shown several times that magic may be boosted under times of stress (Twilight), or under the influence of certain emotions (Sombra) both of which were factors during the occasion.
Shining Armor is shown to be an incredibly competent user of barrier magic, the very thing that cast the changelings out of Canterlot, and assuming that Cadence acted as a sort of amplifier for the reasons explained above, then the ending works very well.
As far as I know, Applejack says that she won her hat at the fair, but not how she won it or from whom. As such it is still possible that the hat is her fathers.
As for how I feel about it, I think it very likely and touching. Applejack has been shown to be very attached to her hat, refusing to relinquish it when dressed formally. This is distinctive of an emotional attachment, one that could very easily stem from memories of a lost loved one. As has been shown in the Apple Family Reunion, and said by Faust, Applejack’s parents are dead, and this would establish such an intense attachment in Applejack to her hat.
I’ve not heard of this fanon idea, but I rather like it. Assuming that the holes on a changeling’s leg are unique to the individual then having a locking system reliant upon turning a series of pegs in a pattern fitting the holes on a changeling’s leg, and dependent upon variable pressure could work. The sequential locking system would be similar to the common setup of locks in which the tumblers are fit in place and opened by the teeth of a key, and a pressure system like that which exists in some safes to prevent them from being broken into.
I’m feeling analytical, so send in a common fanon concept or interpretation, or a blog, and I’ll try to defend its validity.
Warning: Analyses may become controversial, so if you don’t like it, then oh well.
Welcome! This is a gallery of photos, drawings, and crafts created and run by me, Jonathan.
I don’t often promote people, but please give my friend a look.
Does anyone know of any good human tutorials?
Not sure if judging, or legitimately glad…
I have no idea frankly. I’m just now learning to read music and I’m terrible at poetry so lyrics aren’t my strong suit.
I enjoy the concept of one thing becoming another, be it through classics like lycanthropy, or apotheosis. To put it simply I am excited by seeing a discernible change in someone or something from what they were in to something else.
The fact that I’m here is a secret that most people don’t know IRL. As for a secret that I don’t share…..I have a transformation fetish.
I’ve been playing a lot of Rayman Legends recently
Writing
A lot of stuff. I still play Pokemon a lot, but I spend a fair bit of time on my Xbox 360
Probably a few weeks traveling through Ireland and England, just seeing the scenery and trying the food.
From childhood? Pokemon. I played the crap out of Gold version. Still love the entire series.
Anyone?
Papillon was originally Fleur de Lis, though turned into a full blooded changeling Queen through wild chaotic magic. The hive exists largely as a place for me to have fun, include other people’s characters, and share the ideas I have for why changelings are what they are, and the reasons behind their behaviors.
If anyone ever has questions about Papi canon changelings, feel free to send them in and I’ll answer as best I can without getting too deep into spoilers.
Though it has not in the blog, it has in RP. Conversion restructures the body, and can even repair damaged limbs and regrow lost ones (Albeit more riddled with holes and thereby somewhat less stable.) As far as broken limbs and internal damage…not directly.
Though the conversion repairs damaged tissue and grows new tissue the conversion itself won’t heal all wounds. That’s where love comes in. A well-fed changeling can recover from most any wound if they have enough love to fuel them.
Should I stream follower pic stuff soon?
Did this week’s Teen Titans GO! piss anyone else off?
I don’t use anything like this for Papi, but I like it. I really really like it.
The inability to love is a fairly common headcanon for changelings, though a little odd given the hive makeup. I believe Cheerilee’s Chalkboard talked about the holes relating to their changing and sense of self as well.
Though I’ve addressed the feeding of love in a couple of these posts, I’ll say this: Changelings are indeed a misunderstood, suffering species in Papi’s canon, and for some interesting reasons.
Interesting way to look at it.
Chrysalis had her reasons for attacking Canterlot, beyond her own lust for power and conquest. She had effectively erased the minds of those who followed her as well, stripping them of their sense of self.
With Papi and her hive love is the primary food source as it’s renewable and plentiful. Various changelings have their own preferred foods, some of which aren’t even food to most, and all changelings can eat food (and must to maintain disguises when necessary) and generally enjoy it.
Love has myriad uses outside of feeding a changeling, such as amplifying their magic, delaying aging and healing minor wounds.
Interesting inclusion of the holes.
This is actually for a collaboration over on FiMfic, wherein different authors are helping explain different species. My goal here was to try to make as many variations on changelings fit as possible, though I didn’t get to include behemoths or other caste systems.
This is brilliant! Very different from Papi’s canon in a number of aspects, but incredibly thorough. I think many people could benefit from the ideas set out here, or at least their construction.
Papi’s changelings can and will eat most anything, barring a couple organic materials. As a hive changelings would once descend upon an area and strip it of food and resources like locusts, and so in order to preserve their own environment they evolved the capacity to feed off of renewable empathetic energy, most notably love.
Following this, it is possible for changelings to feed off of other emotions, with varying amounts of efficiency and success.
Hunger can do strange things to changelings, like make them eat shiny rocks, no Ruuqo?
As far as my headcanons go, they have long been more benevolent than malevolent, and there were attacks of sorts by creatures who could be called demons….
((Warning, incredibly unlikely, pretty stupid, and also poorly written, continue at your own risk))
Back when equestria was still new, and Celestia and Luna had only recently assumed the thrown, each of the princesses had a student. Luna’s student, Araignee and Celestia’s student, Mortsilli, were incredibly close. Though when time came for Celestia’s student to fulfill her destiny, Mortsilli became distant, due to her many duties, and the two friends grew apart. Araignee watched with jealousy as Celestia showered Mortsilli with praise and affection, treating her as if her own daughter.
She observed the ponies under Mortsilli’s rule admire and honour her. Araignee felt as if this was not deserved, why had she not yet become a princess? She had no longer saw it as a responsibility and an honour, but as a right, that only she deserved. Years passed as she wallowed in jealousy and self-pity, hiding it from the others as she continued her studies, and delved into darker magic and tales in her free time, hidden away far from the castle near the hay seed swamps.
When Luna finally felt that it was time to transition her student into princess hood, Araignaa had steeped long enough in her own negative thoughts and activities, that her destiny magic(?) had been tainted. And though not visibly affected, it had hindered her ability to feel love and compassion, causing a burning sensation to live within her body, which was only soothed when around the other princesses.
The pain and hatred deluded her, and Araignee formulated a scheme to both rid her of the burning, as well as take revenge on Mortsilli for taking the attention and affection that should have been hers for all these years. Hiding away, Araignee practiced a powerful merging spell on both herself, and several other innocent creatures and ponies until she felt she was strong enough to perform it on Mortsilli.
Hidden under both the night and multiple cloaks, Araignee traveled back, hopeful that the princesses would not notice her return. Once close to the castle, Araignee assumed the form of the small mouse she had merged with earlier in the day, and scurried until she was at Mortsilli’s chambers. She flashed into her original form, which had slightly become more ridged, dark, and hardened, due to the incredible amount of beings she had merged herself with in practice of the spell. Now she would only have to merge with one more. And, in her disillusioned mind, Araignee felt that by merging with Mortsilli, all her problems would be solved.
Upon seeing her old friend, Mortsilli galloped to Araignee, but stopped upon seeing her new appearance, “My old friend, What has happened to you in this time?! You were away for so long! We must get you cleaned up! Oh! But nevermind that, we must get you to the princesses, they have been so worried! We thought you to never return! But…What did happen to change your appearance so?”
Mortsilli is taken aback when her friend only offers a smirk in return, followed by a neon green blast of magic. Morsilli deflects it with a shield, causing Araignee to swear under her breath. She charges at the protective bubble, horned lowered, she pierces through slightly, and sends another blast at the other alicorn, drastically weakening her. Araignee doesn’t notice that by then, the soothing that she normally felt around Mortsilli had nearly disappeared.
In a last action of defense, Mortsilli sparks a stream of magic at her former friend, riddling her with holes. Unfazed, Araignee armours herself with the exoskeleton of one of the many insects she had previously merged herself with, effectively stopping the wounds from causing any further damage.
She then successfully blasts the same spell at Mortsilli, merging for the final time.
Instead of the fulfillment she had hoped for, Araignee is only filled with more rage as she discovered that instead, the burning sensation had only strengthened. As she lets out her anger in a shrill yell, Celestia and Luna burst into the room. Before they can even assess the situation, Araignee flashes away to the bad lands.
In her remaining years, she battled with the personalities she had merged with, leading her to eventually construct a spell that would allow her to instead only mimic the form of another body. Utilizing the mirror pool, she built her own hive, only keeping the later generation of copies, who had mutated to be a weaker version of herself, in attempt to prevent mutiny. Before launching an attack on equestria with her army of duplicates, the many minds that she had merged with in her younger years had finally decayed her mind into a madness beyond functioning.
This is a very interesting and very thought out headcanon. Believe it or not, my own plot for the creation of the changelings also deals with Celestia and Luna, albeit in a different matter.
I’m bored and willing to share some spoilerish stuff about my own headcanons for changelings, the ones that shall appear in Papi’s hive. I want to hear others’ ideas though.
What are your headcanons for changelings? Can they only eat love? Can they survive without a hive? Where did they come from?
