Headcannon: The changelings are bioluminescent and can glow at will, this is the easiest way to tell a changelings health

Not quite, though many changeling nymphs emit a soft glow from their bellies if they are full.

Headcannon: 67% of the love in the hive is made from when a number of drone's see one of the baby changelings.

It’s closer to 64.9%, but close enough.

Headcannon: pinkie once snuck into papi's hive and threw a party. why? it was someone's birthday.

Though she can transcend the fourth wall, and seem to teleport with ease, subtlety is not Pinkie Pie’s strong suit.  I’m going to have to say no to this one.  As interesting as it could be, the consequences would not be pleasant.

ask-goodwill replied to your post:headcannon: changeling chitin is a conductor for electricity, as nova (who has a habit of getting hit by lightning) will painfully find out.

I think they meant the armor plating on the flesh, not the changeling.

A Warrior’s, or Goliath’s armor plating is little more than hyperdense keratin that grows over their hide.  Though it can conduct static electricity, it does so no more than a changeling’s hide, and as such Chintin is no more conductive or insulated than any other changeling.

Have you ever had deviled eggs? If not, tis' a shame.

Oh deviled eggs~ Eh, I dont’ really care much for them. I’m really sensitive to spices sometimes, and even though I love the butts out of most egg-ish foods, I can’t get past the heat and spice of a deviled egg. It’s just kinda icky to me.

They are fun to draw though~

Papillon: Makes at least 1 post a week, loses followers upon posting.
Fleur:  Doesn’t make a single post in months, gets random string of followers.

I will never understand why people follow/unfollow blogs.

TMI Tuesday. Why Fleur and Paplyon?

I chose Fleur because she stood out and caught my attention.  The mark and the air she gave off opened up a lot of possibilities that I wanted to explore, and so I made her my own in a sense.  Around the time that I was beginning to burn out and get bored of Fleur I had a magic anon that made her a changeling, and that’s where Papillon came from.

I loved the idea of a changeling Fleur, and I liked the design I crapped out for her, so when the M!A was almost up I cheated and started up another blog to work with her.

I have a head cannon where a common occurrence is that nova will sometimes drag buzz buzz into the throne room and say "I found him in my room's roof. AGAIN." buzz buzz of course looking for nova's hat thing, which he doesn't know is in nova's closet.

That sounds about right.  There is no thing that is safe from the searching Buzz Buzz.

Jan 28, 2014
My head canon is that Buzz Buzz tried building a snowman out of a pod and changeling goop, with a stalactite for a nose.

Papi even animated it for a little bit.  As soon as it started moving though, Buzz Buzz smashed it thinking that it was going to take his things.

Tumblr contest policy

To those who are upset by the changes in the contest policies under Tumblr’s community guidelines, they have not changed since March of 2012.  Don’t believe me?  Look here.  Don’t worry, things in that regard haven’t changed.

Another one of "my" headcannons: Changelings do not have as much individualism as many other blogs describe them to have. They may have different personalities, but usually don't try to differ their appearance because of it. Imagine a teenagers need to be accepted into their clique, then have that feeling multiplied by >1'000 and you have a changeling's need to be one with their hive. This is why leaving a hive is considered one of the worst crimes, punishable by death.

I can see this happening in some groups.

I've heard various terms like "Hunter", "Raider", and "Rogue" being used to label changelings based on their duties or behavior. What single-word label would you use to classify me?

Seeing as I don’t know you at all, I can’t really judge.  Given what I could glean from a moment browsing your blog I would say ‘Rogue’ or 'Scout’.

Headconon for Papi's Hive: My headcanon on Love in it's purest form has a lot of nutritional value and it gives the Changeling that is feeding on it a slight feeling of pleasure.

True!  As previously stated, the purified love a Queen regurgitates to convert a pony is refined enough to feed a changeling for some time, and potentially heal wounds and some diseases.

A changeling who overfeeds on love can enter a euphoric state, not unlike being drunk.  As such, Hearts and Hooves Day can be a rather interesting time in a changeling hive.

Jan 22, 2014 1 note
So you change a pony into a changeling by overloading them with love?

Sort of.  Most creatures cannot digest empathetic energy, and so the purified love regurgitated by a Queen overwrites the pony’s physical being to allow it to be digested.

This, of course, leads to the pony being changed.  Usually the process takes some time, as the love is in such a refined state that it can last a typical changeling a rather long time.  In these cases the converted pony is put into a stasis pod to ease the change along.  In other cases the influx is powerful enough to forcibly convert the pony within moments.

Jan 22, 2014 2 notes
So, if changelings can potentioally live forever and can only be killed by physical harm, doe sthat mean whoever joins your hive has a very good shot at living forever or do you plan to do something about this whole living forever thing?

As far as changelings know, they have the capacity to live forever so long as they are properly fed and do not succumb to illness.  They are like lobsters like that.

A changeling won’t die from old age, but there are many, many other natural causes that could lead to a changeling’s death.

Jan 22, 2014 3 notes
Are there dedicated hunters/gatherers which gather food and/or love? Does the Hive has its own food supply grown inside the cavern walls?

A proper hive with a good Queen, such as Papi’s and those seen in woonastuck, among other examples, does not need an alternative food supply as the love produced by the Queen for her subjects, and vice versa, is enough to subsist upon.  In less stable hives there will generally be designated scouts sent out to hunt for live prey, gather flora, and on occasion, capture ponies to be fed upon.

Jan 22, 2014
Can love be preserved in some way for later use? Do changelings produce some kind of nectar like bees?

Love can be regurgitated in a purified liquid state, similar to nectar.  This is done primarily by the Queen, and is generally what starts a pony’s conversion, as the taste of it instills in them a changeling’s hunger and alters their body to consume it.

Jan 22, 2014 1 note
What would happen if Celestia found out about her Hive before the ime was right and Celestia banished them from the kingdom?

Celestia is not fond of changelings, to put it mildly.  The first changelings came about before her time, and the race as a whole has been hunted ever since because they are seen as horrid abominations.  Her prejudices against changelings were not helped at all by Chrysalis’s invasion.

A changeling hive is effectively a sovereign body, not under Celestia’s jurisdiction, and therefore she cannot banish it from her kingdom.  Celestia would not banish Papi’s hive, she would destroy it.

Jan 22, 2014 2 notes
How did Papi discover the other hives?

Papillon has not ventured to any other hive, though she is aware of them in large part due to the inclusion of changelings from other hives.

Jan 22, 2014 2 notes
Changeling Headcannon: On the incredibly rare occasions changelings have been safe enough to come out of hiding as an entire hive they have been known to "sing" together producing a sound of ethereal beauty

Changelings do have their own unique music, not unlike singing, but more similar to an active forest at night.  The chorus of thousands of changeling trills in unison is a thing of true magnificence.

What will Papi do once she reaches such numbers? I mean, that's a lot of changelings I reckon and it will be hard to manage them all. How does Papi deal with managing anyway?

Papillon is often kept very busy dealing with squabbles and fights among her subjects, as are some of her drones, such as itsmesweetholly, flying-ace-mod, and a few others.  Papi may be a Queen, but even she needs help now and then.

Jan 22, 2014
Can the Hive grow indefinitely, or will soon become overpopulated?

So long as there is room to expand, the hive can continue to grow.  If it nears a point of overpopulation then Papillon will cease her reproductive cycles.

Jan 22, 2014
Is there an equivalent of a Prince in the Hive?

There is not.  Being a matriarchal society with no real tradition of marriage, there is no necessity for a Prince character.  The closest thing to a Prince or King character within a changeling hive would be a chief consort, such as Fancy Pants within Papillon’s hive.  They hold no real power, but are favored by the Queen for reasons.

Jan 22, 2014
~Continued~ They are not born, but the Queen may appoint changelings to the position based on recognition in the Hive and cast the spell/do the thing neccessary to have the changeling evolve into his new form. The reason why not every changeling can be a Vanguard is because of their increased magical prowess their link to the Hive Mind is highly weakened and they have a larger sense of individuality, so if you appointed someone who hates your guts you'd quickly have a rebellion.

Papillon employs a similar practice with her Praetorians, though they are no different from other drones physically.

Jan 22, 2014
I have a headcanon that there is a special breed of changelings called guardians. They are the vanguard of the hive and serve to protect the Queen (kind of of a royal guard) and her Hive and act as advisors. They are stallion-sized (like Fancy Pants before being converted) have an extra pair of wings right under the first pair to accomodate for the extra weight and their magic is a bit stronger and longer lasting of that of a warrior/drone. To be continued~
Jan 22, 2014 1 note
Does the chitinous skin feel the same way a pony does or is it numbed down? How come they don't feel the cleansing green fire?

A changeling’s fire developed as a defense mechanism to blind and escape predators and attackers, before they developed the capacity for natural shapeshifting, but after their hide became as chitinous and hard as it is.

A changeling’s sense of touch is somewhat diluted because of their hide, but not by much.  In their base form, a changeling’s chitin is hard and warm to the touch, both less yielding and less furry than a pony’s hide.
