Just testing the waters. This blog feels like a bit of unfinished business. And after a few encouraging words. I feel a bit motivated to get back to it. I will let you decide.
Show Raster that Macadence is deserving of a reboot!
Alright, Raricow is set to have an art giveaway for 200 followers. The full details are written up and the giveaway is set to begin whenever. Now all that’s left is for ask-raricow to reach 200 followers.

That would be good. I think a request stream might be cool too. Or maybe a “i’ll feature your char in the blog if you win as a cowpony” deal
I don’t like request streams as milestones, especially since I’ve done several before and very few people actually request things. Besides, I’m somewhat slow when drawing so I likely wouldn’t get through too many requests.
Just like with Papi, I want to include people in the blog anyway, and don’t want to make that something that people think they have to win
Now, the next question is: How to allow entry.

contest~
What kind of contest though? Win and get your character anthro’d/cowponified?
Raricow’s only 4 away from 200 followers already. What to do?
If you tell a clerk “I’m never going to shop here again!” it’s likely because you were being an asshole, and would not be missed if you didn’t return to that store.
Thank you so much!
Really? I don’t think the way I draw eyes very special or noteworthy. Could you possibly explain a little more?
Explain?
I am working on the one-word story prompts! But I have had a long day and would like to indulge myself. =n=

I actually really like this
You know Halloween is just around the corner when egg nog is on the shelves.
Regular milking would nullify the magic as it would let the milk be exposed to air long enough for the effects to be negated. If Raricow’s milk was extracted in a vacuum, like from it being gathered from a milking machine, then the magic would remain and those who drank it could experience changes.
Because there is only a little magic in the milk, it would take a lot for it to have a permanent effect on someone who drinks it, and if someone didn’t drink enough for it to be permanent, then they would go back to the way they were before, though they might be taller, or heavier in one manner or another than before.
That’s the plan at the moment. Again, magic would only be present if the milk was bottled in certain ways and the magic hadn’t dissipated yet.
The idea, at the moment, is that the infections aspects are only present directly from the tap, so to speak, and that the magic dissipates after being exposed to air for a short time. It would take a significant amount to fully turn a drinker into a cowpony, and an amount less than full transition would cause temporary changes.
Because the magic would only be present enough to cause changes while still in Rarity, a drinker would have to drink straight from her teats unless the milk was bottled in a near vacuum such as what could be done with a milking machine….
Repeated, or heavy drinking could lead to mild alterations in the drinker’s physique, even if they don’t change. Kind of like how the use of certain chemicals and hormones in actual milk can cause maturation at ages earlier than were present before their use.
Again, mild. Very mild. A full transition to cowpony, and a permanent one, would have to be something not easy to accidentally do.
The milk would be mildly infectious, and take a large amount to fully change a drinker. If not fully changed, the drinker would revert, more or less, to the way they were before.
ask-the-prince-brothers answered your question:I’ve been debating making Raricow’s milk…
yer makin’ my nighttime chocolate milk drinking feel uneasy
Oh you’re safe. I say ‘certain circumstances’ for a reason.
ask-atanax answered your question:I’ve been debating making Raricow’s milk…
I admit that that idea is an interesting one. You should definately consider using it. It could make for an interesting story twist.
That’s why I’m considering it. I think it could make for some fun, and for a good opportunity to explore Rarity and how she feels about herself now. She wouldn’t just knowingly let everyone become a cowpony, but I think it could be interesting to see how she takes friends, family, acquaintances, passersby, etc. embracing her as a cow, hating her as a cow, or even loving themselves as cows.
It’s an idea, but I could go either way on it, and a myriad of ways on either side.
ask-good-will answered your question:I’ve been debating making Raricow’s milk…
Could be interesting. Would the infected be turned into a cow, or just a type of bovine and keep their gender?
If, IF, I go this route the afflicted, if the change is full, would become a cowpony, but wouldn’t necessarily change their gender. I suppose that could happen if consumption continued after a full transition, but everything’s a maybe at this point.
Who says it can’t be both? I think I may have the milk taste sweeter and richer than normal, making it high in demand, and more nutritious. Under certain circumstances, perhaps through direct ingestion, or bottled in a vacuumed circumstance (milk machine perhaps) there could be latent magic mixed with the milk that could cause the drinker to become a cowpony.
Of course, a full transition would probably take a lot of consumption, and the effects could even be temporary if not fully realized.
All things are under consideration in this matter.
I’ve been debating making Raricow’s milk ‘infectious’ under certain circumstances. Like, a remnant of the magic that made her a cowpony remains in the milk, but dissipates upon meeting air. Thoughts or ideas?
Due to Raricow’s move, the milestone has been changed. Perhaps the next time there is a near synchronized milestone.
Oh never hesitate to talk to me on skype. The only reason I have the DnD status on is because I don’t like the notification noise.
Huzzah! Papi’s hit 2K followers!
Now, who among Papi’s followers would best fit the 6 classes of a certain 2K game…..
Huzzah! Papi’s hit 2K followers!
Hmm, not sure if I should work on an update for Papi, or for Raricow tonight. Any preference?
I love how Ubisoft has announced an Assassin’s Creed game with a Chinese woman as the lead protagonist, and I have seen absolutely nothing about it on Tumblr.
Look up Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China.
Hnng, Raricow is only 14 away from 200 followers, and Papi is only 5 away from 2,000 followers! And I finally have an idea of what to do for them! Now to do it, and wait….
toraokami303 replied to your post:You could pick a random handful of followers. For Rarity do a dress based off their colors. For Papi do like, a crown based off the colors? I’m bad at this xD
I hope you come up with something you like!
I’d best do it soon. Papi’s 9 away and Raricow’s 14 now.
Could always opt for simply doing an image that has Papi/Raricow saying thanks~
That I could
I just realized: The booty on both of them…That could work.

Any idea is better than no idea. Thanks Tora! I’ll have to consider this.
Motion is a difficult thing to properly portray in a static medium, and especially so with a subject, or subject type, with which one has very little experience and is trying to improve on anyway.
Telling an artist flat out that they cannot draw motion, in general but especially when they’re trying to get a body type down, doesn’t help them. It makes them feel like they’re failing at what they’re trying to do, and often discourages them from trying.
Don’t tell an artist that they can’t draw something. Tell them that they need to work on drawing that thing. Tell them that that thing needs work, and offer suggestions on how to do it. That’s criticism, and it’s helpful. Telling an artist that they can’t do something, be it motion, expressions, depth, whatever, isn’t criticism, it’s discouragement whether it’s intended or not.
Most importantly, don’t criticize an artist that’s not looking for criticism. If they don’t ask, then oftentimes they don’t want it, and won’t take it if it’s offered. If you’re convinced that they need it, and just haven’t openly admitted to it, then ask before you give criticism.
ask-darkbrightlantern replied to your post:Hmmm, askraricow is only 35 away from 200…
Cowification time!
One suggestion I got that I actually really like is to do a joint milestone if the two blogs hit their respective milestones around the same time and have a species swap. Anthro changeling Rarity, cowpony Papi.
That would of course require both blogs to hit their respective milestones around the same time though.
Hmmm, askraricow is only 35 away from 200 followers, and papillonshive is only 20 away from 2,000 followers. I have no idea what to do for either milestone.
YAY!
Okay, I just finished the campaign of Destiny so let’s have a quick rundown of what I think of the game so far.
Coming from Bungie, I am extremely, EXTREMELY disappointed with Destiny.
Bungie is known for its gameplay, its story and world building, and to an extent its presentation. Unfortunately, the gameplay in Destiny is virtually identical to what we got in Halo, which isn’t bad, but it’s been done and done by the same people. Movement feels the same (the Titan’s Lift ability feels and works identically to the jetpack from Halo Reach). Weapons feel the same, with only two weapon types, the Fusion Rifle and the Hand Cannon not feeling identical to a Halo counterpart. Even then, the Fusion Rifle handles much like a Spartan Laser, and the Hand Cannon is almost synonymous with the Halo 1 pistol. This is not a bad thing, but it’s been done and it’s been done better.
The other half of the gameplay, namely the RPG aspects are almost not there. Each of the 3 classes plays the same with very minimal differences. Leveling is purely grinding with little to no rewards. Loot drops are rare, and finding anything above an uncommon drop is unlikely to happen. It seems almost like the RPG elements that should be the backbone of the game were slapped on at the end of the development at times, and forgotten at others.
The presentation is fantastic, thankfully, both visually and audibly. The score is beautiful, and the locations are beautiful. Each locale looks and feels different from the last, despite there being no fluctuations in movement, gravity, weather, or even much of a different in layout. Animations are smooth, colors are well used, and overall the game looks good, especially on PS4.
The story and world, however, feel flat. The story is almost nonexistent, and is largely told through your Ghost, a floating drone that guides you along, and is voiced by Peter Dinklage. Sadly, the man behind Tyrion Lannister provides a very flat and robotic performance for the Ghost. To a point it’s understandable as the Ghost is a robot, but this is coming from Bungie who has made some of the most iconic and human AI characters in videogames. The bulk of the story comes from the Ghost, with a few snippets taken from other characters that are poorly set up, if at all, and overall comes across as almost not there. That the story of Destiny boils down to Avatar: The Last Airbender in space doesn’t help:
3000 years ago humanity entered a new age of prosperity, but then everything changed when the Darkness attacked. Only the Traveler, carrier of the Light could stop it, but when we needed it most, it went dormant. Now, a Guardian has stepped forth to revive the Traveler, and although s/he’s generic I believe s/he can save the world.
It’s poorly told, almost never present, and because of this something that could easily feel huge and epic comes off as ‘Go here, kill this, pray for loot you won’t get, repeat.’ Destiny is an MMO at heart, but that’s no excuse anymore, especially from a company that has shown that it can very successfully weave a story and lore into a shooter.
Overall, it’s a fun game with good-ish, albeit recycled, gameplay. After the campaign there’s a LOT of grinding to do, but no real incentive for it, sadly. I may play some more to try and get some of the higher end stuff, but it’s questionable. It took a while for the game to grow on me enough to want to play it for a while (when I could, for the first week I couldn’t play for more than 30 minutes to 2 hours due to server issues, that’s right it’s an MMO and you are required to be online at all times while trying to play it.) and now that the campaign is over, I have very little desire to play it more.
At the moment, I’d give it a 7.7 at most, which is a shame as it is one of, if not the, most hyped games of the year.
doctor-2-insane-andfriends replied to your post:I’m actually a little surprised that while some…
(Perhaps some did but got their ask eaten)
Perhaps. I’m just a little surprised that no one has commented on the ears or the coat yet.
I’m actually a little surprised that while some people have commented on the less boisterous alterations to Raricow’s figure during the transition, and one has commented on the speech changes, no one has mentioned the other changes she experienced when the spell came out in full.
How is it that the stuff that I spend a lot of time on are either poorly received, or ‘controversial’, yet the moments that are put out quickly with comparatively little effort are loved?
Either way, thank you very much Sorel!
Thank you! I’m glad I managed to portray something well for once.

I’m torn between wanting to work on Papi for the sake of continuing the story, wanting to work on Raricow for the sake of enjoyment, and not wanting to work on anything.
