Hmm, should I work on another Papi update tonight, or just relax?

I’m surprised, there’s a new ask blog with a known character and only one question has been sent.
Of course. The initial run of Papi featured changeling conversion of the willing, and that’s not going to change. Converting a pony into a changeling is a part of Papi’s canon stemming from the changeling’s relation to Parasprites. Give it time and send in questions and I’ll ask for character submissions to join Papi’s hive.
Of course, she’ll have to set up the hive first, so again give it time.
I’m thrilled to hear that, and it’s why I’m not closing anything down. I love working with Papi and the other characters in the blog, but the story and everything involved with it is becoming too much to work with and it’s a chore to get a single panel done each week.
I’m hoping that this new take on the blog will remain more fresh.

Perhaps you could alternate asks and story; perhaps even spacing the story more?
That’s what I’ve already been doing. Just look at the strings of updates that focused on Raven, Libi and the like in an attempt to stall out the story that I can’t figure out how to frame or do.
The majority seems to be siding with keeping Papi going as is, but I still don’t know what to do. The longer the poll goes on the greater the gap seems to be getting, but the more I’m tempted to just reboot the blog.
A reboot would involve a new blog instead of deleting anything, so the possibility of going back is there albeit unlikely.

I know, which is why I’m only considering it instead of flatly doing it. I don’t know why, but focusing heavily on story in the blogs tends to suck the life out of me more quickly. I can’t figure out how to frame updates, or how to set events nearly as often or as easily as I should. It’s not as fun as it should be, or as it was.
It’s just something that I’m mulling over, in part out of nostalgia for how much passion I had for the blog in the beginning in comparison to now. Just answering questions and having fun instead of struggling to figure out how to frame a single panel when I could be doing photosets.
I feel terrible for cutting off the story where it is, and I would like to finish it, but it’s not fun to me any more, and has progressively less so since story became a major thing a year ago.
Again, I’m not saying that I’m going to hard reset Papi and take the entire blog back to the beginning, I’m just considering it. If I do I’ll keep Papi’s blog and updates as they are and probably just start from scratch.
It seems depression is hitting early this week, and that coupled with pulling a complete blank on what to do for Papi is making me want to hard reboot the entire blog and take it back to the beginning.

I had to call in sick to work today, so the good news is that I’m off until Thursday, but that bad news is that I’ll be missing out on a day’s pay. Anyone want a commission/sketchmission?
A certain someone has brought up the idea of pigpones existing in the same universe as Raricow and the cowpones. I’m intrigued.
If you were stranded on an island, who would you want to be with?
I don’t really know. I don’t really have many friends offline, and I often feel like I don’t know them any better than I know my friends online. I’m generally wary and untrusting of people unless I’ve known them for a while, and even then prefer solitude as much as I complain about being lonely.
Do you have someone who makes you feel good about yourself?
I have people that make me feel better in general, but none that really make me feel better about myself as a whole. I’m too lonely and self-deprecating for that.
What makes you feel strong?
I don’t really know. I’m not sure that I’ve ever felt particularly ‘strong’ in an emotional or physical sense. I’m regularly plagued by depressive periods that leave me borderline insensate, and physically I have more than a few issues that keep me from really bulking up.
I guess not giving up, though goodness knows I’ve considered it.

I don’t know why, but Wednesday seems to be the worst day for depressive spells for me.

The Batman Vs. Superman trailer isn’t nearly as bad as the first trailer, but still doesn’t inspire much hope for the film.
Then there’s the Deadpool trailer. The glorious, glorious Deadpool trailer.
There’s a full trailer for Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice out now, and it makes me question the casting of Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor even more.
I may not be the type of friend who will come to you in troubled times to ease your burden, but I try my best to be the one you can always go to.

well it will hopefully be better than having a Scottish bane in the last batman movie. That was not a good one.
No, no it wasn’t. The Batfleck movie worries me more than Tom Hardy as Bane did though. It’s a rare thing for the director to be the writer, and star in the film and have it be good. The only examples I can think of of people directing, writing and acting in the same movie involve Tommy Wiseau, and M. Night Shyamalan.
That this is going to be the same iteration of Batman that is only being introduced in the upcoming Batman v Superman movie is even more cause for concern. No one has seen how good or bad Batfleck is, so that DC is already giving Affleck his own movie to headline, and write, and direct with their history makes me worried. It makes me very very worried.Except Ben has starred in/wrote/directed the town and Argo and those two movies were acclaimed. Also, he wrote/directed Gone Baby Gone which was acclaimed as well. He has a very good track record when it comes to him being control of a project.
Like I said, it’s a rare thing. It can happen, but it doesn’t happen often. The major difference here is that the movies that he has filled multiple roles for were smaller, individual films whereas what he will be doing here is a continuation not just of a character that has been defined by past iterations and will be defined by another director’s vision as much as Affleck himself.
Having a good track record often means very little when coming in on a series, and even less with comic movies. The standalone Batfleck movie may end up fantastic, but given what it’s building off of, the odds are stacked against it. Maybe after BvS I’ll be more enthusiastic about it, but at the moment it does not bode well to me.

As time goes one I find myself more and more dissatisfied with where I am in life. I’m lonely, distant from my family, have virtually no friends offline, still live at home and I’m coming to loathe my job after only 6 months.
And I wonder why I’m depressed.

Thank you, but it’s not sadness that’s the problem. I feel depressed, not sad. Sadness implies that there’s something to be sad about, but depression can and often does strike out of the blue for little apparent reason. It’s not a feeling of sadness so much as it is a sensation of deflatedness and uselessness.
And it’s time for everyone’s favorite show: Let’s Enter a Depressive Spiral!
