That’s actually a very good question. They are compatible with ponies, because Hippogryphs are a thing, so it stands to reason that the affliction would affect them. At the same time, they’re not ponies so they wouldn’t become cowponies. They’d definitely exhibit changes in the size and proportions of the body, as well as some bovine changes to the features but they wouldn’t go full cowpone.

In thinking about the variations between cowponies and how the coat patterning and horn shape and position are determined by race, I realized that there’s nothing in place for lesser used pony races like batponies, changelings, sirens and donkeys. If anyone’s interested in a cowponed variation of any of the listed species feel free to suggest attributes to help differentiate them from those already seen, i.e. unicorn, pegasi, earth pony and alicorn.

Well, what I was getting at is that you shouldn't let their comments bring you down.
I know. It’s not the comments that have been getting to me, it’s the voting. For instance I posted a picture of Applejack as a muscular cowpony and it’s voted somewhere around -13 right now, and a painted headshot transformation of a person turning into Papi and it’s at -8. I understand that everyone has their likes and dislikes, but it still stings to see stuff that I’m proud of being downvoted so much.

What's the difference between chubby and heavyset?
Chubby would be overweight but not unhealthy. Like, average American overweight. Heavyset would be fat, for lack of a better term. Pronounced belly and curves. Unhealthy, but not obese with a lot there to love.

What should Applebloom's body type be as a cowpony? Background is done for the sequence, and I have the structure for Applebloom starting out roughed out, as well as a height comparison for the end. Unsure on the final body type for Cattle Bloom though, so feel free to vote.
