Clearly if someone can’t afford things like video games or a pass to Brony Con, it’s time to stop relying on art and go look for a better job
If an event comes up that would be very beneficial to your business, you go to your employer for help with attending that event. If issues come up with the means that you use to do your job, then you go to your employer to see that those issues are resolved. For an artist on tumblr their audience is effectively their employer, to whom they’re oftentimes providing free content. If the artist wants to give their audience a means to supporting them without requiring it then more power to them If money is freely given then it’s up to the artist to determine how it’s used, and more often than not it’s used as it should.
I don’t know who the original anon follows that holds donation drives and explicitly says that it’s for a videogame, but most calls for donations that I’ve seen have been for either emergency situations, or for the benefit of the artist’s general financial situation. If they have donations open outside of specific drives, who cares? No one is making you donate, or even look at the button. If you donate, then congratulations you’re supporting someone whose content you enjoy and want to see more from. If you don’t donate, then nothing happens to you, or to them and things go on as though you never saw the little donate button in the corner of their blog.
All that aside, if you’re going to judge someone for having the option available to give support at your own discretion, when that person provides free content it doesn’t matter whether art is their job or their hobby. In that situation, you’re the issue and should frankly piss off.
Raricow’s back up to 109 followers, which I’m so happy about after the last blog was deleted. I think that if it hits 200 there should be another appearance giveaway to help get more people included in the blog, per the earlier response to @ask-fickleaura-mod-blog. I’d appreciate any help to get to that point.
I make no promises, but will say, we’ll see. I may include the occasional OC, but I want to keep Raricow more contained than something like Papi. Those who I’ve said will be included I have said as much because they won a giveaway in which that was the prize, a recurring role in the blog. Similar contests may be held for certain milestones, but for others seeking inclusion in the blog through cameo or recurring role (or cowpone-ing) I will say only “Maybe” at this point.
This is very important if you’re ever in a situation similar this pretend that you’re dead don’t scream and @#!*%
my dad told us this if someone shoots up our school
SUPER IMPORTANT
BEST TIP
PLEASE REMEMBER THIS
not even a joke we learned this in Police Explorers and put it on your clothing as well but go quickly because you don’t know where the person is.
This is what school children in America are taught. That is so wrong on so many fucking levels and there are still people who believe gun control in any form is a bad thing.
let me reiterate SCHOOL CHILDREN IN A SUPPOSEDLY FIRST WORLD COUNTRY ARE TAUGHT THE SAME THINGS AS PEOPLE IN ACTIVE WAR ZONES BECAUSE THE THREAT OF BEING KILLED IN A SHOOTING IS SO HIGH.
the bit in caps here is making me rethink my stance on gun control
shit
I’m reblogging this because as my follower count goes up, the odds of this saving a life do too.
My elementary school had drills telling us what to do in such an emergency. This is exactly what they told us. AND NOW FOR A FACT: IN CALIFORNIA YOU DO NOT HAVE TO REGISTER A SHOTGUN!
I live in America, and I was only taught to hide and be quiet. I had to learn this on Tumblr. If one more person says that technology is ruining children, they best shut the hell up because this could be saving lives
We had more lockdown drills at school than we did fire drills…
You do realize this show’s episode aired some three years BEFORE the current shit with these school shootings, right?
China Illinois pilot first aired in 2011, the Sandy Hill shooting was in 2012 and was far from the first incident of a school shooting, though perhaps the most well known recent one due to the average age of the victims.
