Please tell me, why do you want to see Papi continue?
I just cannot work on Papi right now. It doesn’t feel right.
I’ve tried several different ways of setting the Papi update, and no matter what I’ve tried or done nothing looks or feels right. I guess I’m just having one of those nights where I question why I keep trying with Papi.

I need to update Papi, but I’m not sure how to set the update…

He just hasn’t changed size yet. They clearly talked how he wants the suit to be able to do that and he and felicity are working on it, or have done it and ray hasn’t had the balls to try yet. So its gonna happen. Just no idea when. Likely soon tho.
Oh I’ve no doubt that they’ll do it eventually, it just seems odd and somewhat stupid that they haven’t yet. The only talk of shrinking involved with Atom in Arrow has been using the nanotech to shrink a blood clot, and now that nanotech is inside Ray so there’s the possibility. That they introduced Atom as a wise-cracking, snarky billionare in an armored suit that can fly, uses high end HUDs to analyze situations and shoots hardlight/plasma from his gauntlets seems stupid to me though as it’s LITERALLY Iron Man in all but aesthetic. I’m not too well versed in DC comics, but I don’t recall any version of The Atom ever being like that.
You know, I love how DC’s introduced The Atom in Arrow and he’s pretty much just an Iron Man clone while in the comics he’s a size-shifter, and in the meantime Marvel’s made an Ant-Man movie where the character legitimately changes sizes and makes it look awesome.
I should end Papi’s hiatus soon. I was planning on doing that today, but……maybe.
How’s it unhealthy?
It’s making thousands of video game companies significantly more money
How is it unhealthy if it’s working perfectly exactly as planned?
Look at WoW with all its expansions and monthly fees
Look at PayDay 2 with the amount of content packs they’re able to keep making because of the amount of people buying them
Look at Killer Instinct being a 100% DLC game where every individual character is DLC and it’s one of the most successful fighting games ever made
Like I’m really not seeing the issue here
And YES I WANT TO PAY EXTRA
Do you know how much money I’ve put into free games like League of Legends and RIFT?
THOUSANDS
OF
DOLLARS
THOOOOOOOOOOOOUSAAAAAAANDS
Not just 5.99 for an extra two missions and a costume
THOUSANDS OF FUCKING DOLLARS
ON A GAME THAT’S ALREADY FREE
YES I WANT TO PAY MORE FOR GAMES THAN I ALREADY PAID
I WANT TO PAY LOTS MORE
“It’s making thousands of video game companies significantly more money

It’s costing the players more and you really can’t say developers aren’t purposefully removing content from their game to sell back to you.
“Look at WoW with all its expansions and monthly fees“
It’s $15 a month, you can play for free now with WoW tokens, expansions give you a whole lot of content for their cost, and they end up free over time.
“And YES I WANT TO PAY EXTRA“
I think you’re the only one.
“Do you know how much money I’ve put into free games like League of Legends and RIFT?“That’s the catch. A free game can charge you for dlc because it has no other way to make money. A 60 dollar game asking you to fork over additional cash is bullshit.
Now, I do think there is good dlc. Fallout: New Vegas selling expansions, giving you a new area to explore, new weapons to play with, and a new story? Good. Mortal Kombat X charging you to make Fatalities easier? Bullshit. We called those difficulty levels. There is no reason they couldn’t add an easy mode where Fatalities are easier to pull off. But no, they’re charging you. Because they think that little of you. They think you’re the kind of idiot who’d throw away their money on this shit. And from how strongly you’re defending it, you are.
I’ll pay more on games I love to support developers, too, buddy. It’s how they invest and get return with an interested and supportive audience.
God forbid companies don’t earn more than their initial game sales. More money for higher and more quality? Oh no!
The thing about content that can be purchased is that it should be extra content, bonus content. You shouldn’t have to pay for an essential part of the game like the ending or the thing that people actually want. the part that makes the game recognizable.
Which games force you to buy the ending?
It’s just an example of something that marketers have considered. We are just lucky they realized it would have been a bad idea.
The amount of polish in major games has increased in recent years. The amount of content in many games has increased or remained roughly the same for years. The sheer cost of making a game has increased extremely in recent years. The cost of purchasing a base game has, dollar for dollar, DROPPED.
DLC is DLC. It’s bonus content outside of the main game that you are given the option of purchasing if you want to partake in it, or if you want to support the developer. Most DLC doesn’t make the game easier, though it might cut down on grinding.
The video game industry hasn’t become more toxic or greedy, so much as the average consumer has become more jaded with all of the options made available. DLC practices now aren’t bad. They might get worse, but I doubt it at the moment, especially seeing as 10 years ago when DLC was just beginning to be a thing the only way to expand content was to buy either a rereleased copy of the game, or a sequel that had hardly improved on its predecessor.
Pssst…..Follow the ruuqo. Do it for the arts.
sorel-luna replied to your post: draw something for fun we wont lynch you for it
Would you like us to throw some ideas out there? I agree with anon, maybe you should work on something that’s more enjoyable
It’s not that I don’t find the things that I don’t want to draw enjoyable, it’s that I don’t want to draw them right now and just don’t know what I do want to draw. As for requests or spitballing ideas, people are welcome to suggest them, but it’s looking more and more like that won’t help tonight.
I wouldn’t mind working on updates for a few blogs, but I just don’t have any questions that scream “DRAW ME NOW!” right now.
