  • Going to bed _ hours before needing to wake up

    • 12:   Really? Pretty excessive. I mean, I get that sleep is great, really I do, but other stuff is cool too. No? Okay, enjoy your rest.
    • 11:   A bit much. Either going to be groggy all day or I'll have the energy of 1,000 suns. Most likely the former.
    • 10:   Pretty good, nice and restful though still maybe a touch too much.
    • 9:   Awesome. Let the dreaming commence!
    • 8:   Perfect. Not too much, not too little, just enough to get some nice dreams in without being lost in Narnia for 45 years.
    • 7:   Alright. Feeling good. Not great, but good.
    • 6:   Should probably be getting to sleep soon. Stuff to do tomorrow.
    • 5:   Really need to get some shut eye.
    • 4:   Come on. Please. Sleepy time now?
    • 3:   GO THE FUCK TO SLEEP
    • 2:   I'm feeling good. I don't need sleep. Sleep is for the weak! I can stay awake forever!
    • 1:   I was wrong. I was so, so wrong.
    • 0:   I hate myself so mu-zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • Jitters, not everyone is able to get these things. And don't compare America to other countries because America is much LARGER and has so many more people to have to take care of, on top of dealing with the rising national debt. Welfare would be more beneficial and less restrictive if people didn't abuse it. The blame falls on those who do nothing and expect something to be given to them for it, and this makes things harder for the lives of the honest.

Okay but don’t sit there blaming lazy people when people are being forced to be lazy because the system can and will throw them out on the street if they so much as attempt to have a decent living

It’s not a fucking way to live, the housing sucks, the areas to live are unsafe, there’s a risk of being homeless around every corner if you fuck up. People “taking advantage”? Of course they’re taking advantage of it because NO ONE CAN GET A GOD DAMN JOB. How ELSE are they going to live?

It’s a system that keeps the poor as poor and miserable, they don’t GET to rise up to middle class.

If everyone had their basic needs met, then they would stop feeling trapped. People could actually spend on the economy rather than struggling by and buying only the things they absolutely need on the government’s money.

I always love it when people use the excuse of “America’s too big for the changes other countries have made to work!” to explain why nothing is getting done and things are getting worse in the U.S. while the same problems are worked on, and in many cases solved abroad.

Yes, the U.S. is physically larger than many other countries.  Yes, the U.S. is more populous than many other countries.  You know what else the U.S. is?  Despite the high national debt, the U.S. is more wealthy and productive than many other countries and has a higher GDP and ‘average’ income than many other countries.  The funding for the fixes that have worked for other nations is there, it’s just not going to move, and that’s because it’s all centralized in a very small group.

The economic system is borked at the moment, with the U.S. having the worst wage disparity since the 1920s when labor laws were JUST coming into play and conditions in U.S. factories could make modern sweatshops overseas seem bearable.  They political system is borked right now, with one of if not THE least productive Congresses in history that struggles to pass a budget let alone actually help the nation.  Why?  Because many congress members care more for their own benefit than those of the constituents that put them in place, and make choices and votes that aide corporations more often than those that actually need help.

Yes, there are some people who take advantage of social services and welfare, but if you spend more than 5 minutes talking to ANYONE who actually works with people on assisted living, instead of someone who sounds like they came from FOX news and you’ll realize that the amount of people taking advantage of the system are few and far in between, and that the people taking advantage of the political system for their own gain in the economy are actually fairly prominent, and doing a lot more harm.

Don’t blame the people who are doing all that they can to get by and have to rely upon a system that stigmatizes them in the eyes of others.  Don’t blame the people who actually work day in and day out to provide the bare necessities to their families through a system that continuously seems to beat them down and work against them.

Blame those at the top, those who have influence over the system itself and more often work to further destabilize it than to strengthen it for their own gain, be it fiscal or political.

  • Plan: Work on and put out a Papi update, and hopefully finish the Raricow update that’s been coming for a while.

    Reality:  We’ll see.

  • Quiet person with a sense of music. I can be rather hard on myself and tend to put others wants ahead of my own. I like anime and sci-fi and some video games. Hmm... I prefer staying in with a person and getting to know them more than going out.

I like your idea of a date.  How does 7-ish sound?

  • I'm a guy, 6ft 1in and weigh 210 lbs. I have an average build with brown eyes, dark brown hair that goes to my lower rear when straightened out. I'm clean shaven with a fairly pale complexion and my outfit usually consists of a black leather jacket, jeans, boots, and a t-shirt.

Potentially.  It depends on what you’re like.  I’m demisexual, the physical doesn’t really sway things for me.  It’s the personality, thoughts and likes that affect me, though I suppose that’s what the dating is for.

It doesn’t help that, given the job market and hiring practices, going to college is no guarantee that the child won’t have to have a manual labor job at some point.
