Huh, apparently I’ve ruined Christmas hours before it’s even started. That’s a new record for me.
Update progress update: all characters sketched, 3 inked and background 80% done.
Motivation update: Plblblblblbbbt
There are times when I believe the fine balance of having enough time, energy and desire to draw is one of the rarest things in life.
After seeing The Battle of Five Armies I stand by what I’ve said about the Hobbit movies before: They are generally good adaptations, not of the Hobbit directly or alone, but of the lore and mythos included throughout the Hobbit, LOTR, the Unfinished Tales, and the Silmarillion.
The movies aren’t flawless, but they are good and enjoyable and stand strongly as a series, though not as well individually. All in all, well worth seeing, especially for those who like the Hobbit, but understand that the novel itself is not without its faults.
I’m well aware of romantic attraction, my question is whether or not that constitutes ‘gay’. Homoromantic relationships aren’t uncommon, and depending on one’s definition and the activities done therein could include a girls’ night out, or 'bro-time’.
Gay, at least socially, is considered synonymous with homosexuality and in many parts is stigmatized in a way that having a nonsexual relationship with a member of the same gender never is.
That’s what confuses me about that post, the phrasing and the implications. Conservative parents will often (sometimes unknowingly) encourage what could be considered homoromantic interactions in an attempt to encourage camaraderie in their children. These same parents could disown and shame the same children if they ever came out as gay.
One does not simply decide a character’s personality with the flip of a coin. Okay, some might, but I don’t. The projected Fleur’s are really different too, with one being almost opposite of what she’s often portrayed as, and the other being a more catty, mean-girl-esque character.
every female character in mlp is an asexual gay trans girl, suck it bronies
Am I missing something? Since when can someone be asexual and gay? Assuming we’re talking about gender identity, asexuality kind of rules out being sexually attracted to the same gender.

The good news: I’m working on a Raricow update featuring some as of yet unseen characters in early morning attire, such as Apple Bloom, Big Mac, one of Apple Bloom’s friends who is obvious, and a certain bespectacled class mate who normally would not be associated with them…
Just finish the characters and leave either no background or just lineart for the background. Shaves off quite a portion of work without badly marring quality.
I don’t like cutting corners just to get it out there faster, and even then it’s the characters that take the longest for me. I think the longest time I’ve taken on a background was a complex background of Canterlot for Papi, and even that only took a couple hours max. The backgrounds in Raricow have been pretty simple and this one is no exception.
I’m not sure if the new Fleur blog is going to follow a Fleur the likes of which spawned Papi, or one with a completely different personality…
The good news: I’m working on a Raricow update featuring some as of yet unseen characters in early morning attire, such as Apple Bloom, Big Mac, one of Apple Bloom’s friends who is obvious, and a certain bespectacled class mate who normally would not be associated with them positively. I’ve got about half of the initial sketch done.
The bad news: I have no motivation or energy to continue work beyond what I have tonight, and tomorrow will be largely consumed by work and The Hobbit, so said update may not show up until next week at some point.
I’ll also try to get out holiday/festive updates for all three blogs, but I promise nothing. I would love ideas for these potential posts though.
