  • I tend to be a bit of a Ubisoft apologist at times, but I never never never thought that Ubisoft would blow Bethesda out of the water at E3.  Holy crap.

  • I don;t think stars actualy exists, it seems to be just a fan thing like grey and Z, plus I don;t see nintendo putting full pokeon game on the swiitch. they seem to want it to stay handheld only. plus it would cost allot more money then a regualr hand held one to make. I don;t thikn they see a concole as a good place to put pokemon. well a main game, concoled seem to be for side projects. Last one I remember was pokemon XD and no one ever talks about it. It seems like just another small sidenote

Stars/Eclipse is quite possible on the Switch actually, for the exact reason that there has never been a true mainline Pokemon game on a home console before: The Switch isn’t a traditional console.  It’s only slightly less portable than a 3DS, has infrared and can communicate with other Switch consoles locally or online just like the 3DS, and even has touch sensitivity.

Whether Stars is real or not, the important thing is that it’s more likely for there to be a mainline Pokemon game on the Switch than it ever was on any of Nintendo’s other consoles.  It’s a hybrid handheld-console, and honestly the bulk of the work is already done, the graphics would just need to be upscaled for HD, the controls and mechanics wouldn’t require any changing.

pokemon bank won’t allow items to be transferd so unless that changes I don;t see anyway to send stuff like the snorlax and mew Z things to the new game, witch is a shame, they let you get special items and they stay on the old game.

There’s your issue, you’re transfering through Pokemon Bank.  You could just do what has been necessary from 1998-2013 and just trade.  I’m probably in the minority with having more than one 3DS, but it’s really not that hard to work out transfer trades with someone, especially with online being as prevalent as it is.

I’m stil a bit disapointed at the quick cash grab, but the only thing that really bothers me is they give you these neat items and then soon after a new game comes out and you cand send the items over to the new game. thats what bothers me the most hehe

It’s really not a quick cash grab to put out full games more than a year after the original entries in the generation of Pokemon.  That happens.  Yellow came out a year after Red/Blue in America.  Crystal came out a year after Gold/Silver.  Emerald came out a year after Fire Red/Leaf Green, which came out a year after Ruby/Sapphire, etc.

You can always transfer non-key items and Pokemon between games within the same generation with little to no limitation, and the only major limitations that really exist with transferring Pokemon between generations is that you can only transfer upwards, and generally can’t transfer items across generations now, but even that’s not much of an issue.

I have no doubt that Usu/UMo will be great, but we’ll have to wait for more info to see just how good it’ll be.  This is an opportunity to take Alola, which was an amazing region, and fix the issues people had with it, and it doesn’t rule out Stars or Eclipse on the Switch, it just states that that’s not coming this year.

  • “What’s there to be excited about with Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon?  They’re just going to be Sun and Moon with new Solgaleo/Lunala forms.”

Firstly, we know that the games feature an alternative story set in Alola, and there have already been new/altered locations shown off.  How alternative that is is up in the air at the moment, but may be either a completely alternate timeline where characters (and possibly cities/ecologies) are altered, or a story set in the future of Su/Mo much like Black 2/White 2.

Secondly, we know that the games are confirmed to have Pokemon that were not available in Su/Mo naturally.  It’s pretty much guaranteed that it won’t be limited to Ultra Solgaleo/Ultra Lunala.

Thirdly, we know that Gold and Silver are coming out on the Virtual Console ahead of USu/UMo’s release, just like R/B/Y came out ahead of Su/Mo and allowed for transfer through the bank, which was announced prior to Alolan forms.

We have 5 months before it comes out, and a lot of opportunity for info to come out.  Between the emphasis on it being an alternate story/timeline (coupled with the multiverse aspects that were confirmed in Su/Mo) and the Gold/Silver compatibility, I’m going to guess that we get more Alolan forms, possibly even of Kanto/Johto Pokemon that were in Su/Mo but may have evolved differently in this different Alola.

Patience, time will tell.  Worst case scenario is that we end up with the new Black 2/White 2, which I’d say were the best parts of Gen 5.

Looking at the extended trailer it comes from beyond the trainer’s home, so yeah it’s scripted.  I can dream dammit.
