  • Head cannon: Upon getting past the whole "feeding off of an others emotions in order to satiate ones hunger", It is quite easy to realize that changelings are one of the greatest "lovers" species in Equestria. The fact hat they are shunned by modern pony society is only due to haters and religious leaders alienating them for their appearance alone. If an environment free from prejudice allows changelings, the chances of cross species relationships would actually be quite high.
    staticthordraconus

This is true for Papi’s canon on a number of levels.

Because of their appetites and feeding habits changeling society is much more socially open and direct than many pony communities, with relations generally being more open and acknowledged.  This of course can lead to some awkward situations among converted drones.

The hatred of changelings by the bulk of pony society has less to do with ‘haters and religious leaders’ however, and more towards a long standing prejudice and fear based around the changelings’ appearance, misunderstandings of their modern behaviors, and terrible wive’s tales of their ancestor’s behaviors.

The first of what would become changelings were much more monstrous creatures in their behavior, consuming most organic matter in an area before moving on, leaving it stripped as though they were locusts.  These areas would often remain barren for some time, leading to the Changeling Wastes on the outskirts of Equestria, and any pony or other sentient caught during a hive’s passing would generally be consumed and converted through less savory means than Papillon exhibits.

The first changelings were visibly horrifying, and that was reflected in behavior, generally being more feral than sapient, and behaving more akin to their parasprite relatives than their pony relatives.  These times led to changelings being demonized as a plague and blight upon the world, and as such led to many attempts to remove them from the world they feasted upon.  And so, ponykind, under the leadership of the royal sisters enacted acts of genocide and attempted to completely eradicate the changelings.

These acts of course led to much bitterness between changelings and ponies, especially as the changelings were forced to adapt rapidly through accelerated generations.  Modern changelings are much different than those that were first hunted near extinction, but even the modern changeling bears fear of destruction and extinction under the hooves of ponies, especially after Chrysalis’s folly.

This is what makes Papillon’s gambit very dangerous.  She seeks peace between the changelings and ponykind, and it is possible to establish it, but even if changelings are understood as loving and sapient creatures, there will still be a LOT of prejudice and hatred to get over.

  • Hopefully I can manage more than a coupe of hours of sleep, and before 7AM tonight.  I don’t want to spend all day tomorrow passing in and out of consciousness.

  • Headcannons: nymphs chirp when they're hungry and purr when they're full. there's also enough nymphs in papi's hive that if you somehow put an even amount into every room, you could walk into that room and possibly see anywhere from 5 to 10 right off the bat if the rest of them are hiding.

While possible (a Queen’s reproductive cycle can lead to dozens, if not hundreds of eggs in the span of a few months) it’s not so at the moment.  With the Hive as large as it is, Papi has stopped her cycles until it is necessary to replenish numbers again.

Nymphs tend to chirr and chirp when they’re hungry, bored, and even tired.  When they’re full and have their little glowy bellies they don’t purr so much as they chitter and click.

  • What if you sold everything you can replace and go there and have a tabula rasa? Fortune favours the bold after all.
    ask-paradigm

Because I have debts I need to pay, because I don’t have much to sell, and because if we ever do manage to get together in real life I don’t want to be a burden to Vae.

  • Headcannon: changelings can shift into things like dragons, but it takes a LOT of energy.
    switch-up-snowfox

This is true in Papi’s canon.  A changeling can mimic most sentients and creatures, even altering their size.  They cannot, however, alter their mass when shapeshifting.  So, a typical drone could take the form of a grown dragon with great energy, but the product would be almost like a living balloon.

  • How about Scotland?
    ask-paradigm

If I had the option and the funds, I would love to move to Scotland, or England.  I’m sure I’d love Scotland, but England is where Vae is.

  • I mean since you're already moving, might as well go far and wide, right? Or does it really cost that much more?
    ask-paradigm

Moving out of state would cost a fair bit more than just finding an apartment in my city.  Not to mention the fact that I would have to quit my job and find a new one (granted, I need to do that anyway but that’s besides the point).

If I could, I would rather move out of the country, and live in England so I could be nearer my Khaleesi, though at the moment, with all the other expenses and things I have to deal with right now local is about all I can do.

No, though I did once sketch Fleur as Darth Vader.
