  • Yet another reason why I hate my job: My manager left for a different store, and rather than look for a replacement management is pushing me into taking the job when I have told them repeatedly that I have no intention of doing so.  Despite saying almost daily that I will not take the position, I’m still asked on a regular basis.

They have known the manager was going to leave for nearly a month, and yet there has been ‘maybe one interview scheduled’ (according to the assistant store director) for the job because they won’t stop harassing me about taking it.

The job in question would double my hours, triple my workload, and would come with a raise, but in moving from wage to salary I would only make around 1.5 times what I make now.  Because I’ve refused the job repeatedly, I still get all of the responsibilities, tasks, and work of the management position, without any raise and if I go over 40 hours I can and will be written up.

I have worked at this store for 6.5 years.  I make only $8.90/hr despite some of the best reviews in the store, and the company.  Behold, retail practices of 'Murica.
