I can easily tell someone of either gender how to react to other folks of whatever gender, I don’t have to be a specific gender to teach and understand that

Not only can gay parents fulfill whatever gender role might be needed or thought necessary for a child’s development, having gay parents of either gender doesn’t limit the child’s interaction to only one gender.  What a lot of people seem to be forgetting is that, unless the parent was completely disowned by their family for being gay, which is messed up already, the child will most likely have exposure to both male and female role models and family members from the extended family.

A traditional man/woman marriage is not necessary.  In some cases it can even be harmful to the child as it can expose them to generational abuse that could be avoided in a different household under different circumstances.

Children aren’t raised in a bubble with only their parents to teach and care for them, and I think that’s the point that so many people are missing tonight.
