“YOU DAMN MILLENNIALS! NO RESPECT FOR YOUR ELDERS!”

That’s part of the problem.  The older generation (pre-1945) tend to be either too senile, or too understanding to really rant at people working customer service.  The newer generation (post-1985) is in the same boat as many who work customer service and actually tend to be pretty patient in my experience.

The middle generation (1945-1985) have more often been impatient and irate at smaller issues in my experience.  After 6.5 years working customer service in person, and half a year working behind a phone I’ve been verbally assaulted maybe once by a millennial, a few times by members of the older generation, and every other day by those of the middle generation.
