i should mention that being on the same side of the political spectrum does not make one agree. for example, you can still be conservative/republican and still think that trump's build a wall plan is stupid.

Very true, however a majority in not one, but both houses of Congress aligning with the President means that there’s less chance of stupid laws or ideas from being held off on and considered. Add on to that how many justices could end up being appointed in the next few years and the gov’t turns really red. Being on the same side doesn’t mean that everything Trump wants will fly, but it’ll be a hell of a lot easier to push it.
