Headcanon: Changeling chitin is not shed in entirety but in chunks (leg, hoof, head), leaving squishy transparent flesh before it hardens again

I’ve actually not thought about molting/shedding of old shells.  I prefer to think that when it’s time to shed a changeling burns away its old shell.
