Headcanon: Changelings need to feed off other positive emotions from the hive in order to keep a strong bond

The cyclical feeding between Papillon and the members of the hive maintains stability for the most part. Drones are allowed to feed off of love, and derivatives thereof in small amounts if they are coupling, but primarily rely upon their queen for sustenance.
