Hey look, a classic Doctor!
As terrible as it is that the Classic Doctors who carried the show until its reboot aren’t in the 50th, and some at least feel snubbed by this, people need to understand that there are reasons for it.
It is not an easy thing to write an episode of a popular series. It is not easy to write several versions of the same character in the same scene. It is not easy to introduce a significant part of the audience to a version of that same character who not only hasn’t been around for DECADES, but whose actor has not touched them in the same time and may have aged in body and mind to a point that performing what once came easily would be difficult if not impossible.
It is a sad thing that Colin Baker, Peter Davidson and other classic Doctors cannot be in the 50th for whatever reason, but that does not change the fact that it is a celebration of 50 years of Doctor Who, even if it doesn’t feature the Doctors from all 50 years equally.
Until you have seen it, don’t judge it. If you’re so offended that the writers are using characters familiar and popular to the general audience, instead of reintroducing characters that have not been in more than 20 years, then I think you should keep it to yourself and maybe reconsider what it is to be a fan of a series in its entirety.
HAPPY The Night of the Doctor ANNIVERSARY!!
