I have a headcanon that there is a special breed of changelings called guardians. They are the vanguard of the hive and serve to protect the Queen (kind of of a royal guard) and her Hive and act as advisors. They are stallion-sized (like Fancy Pants before being converted) have an extra pair of wings right under the first pair to accomodate for the extra weight and their magic is a bit stronger and longer lasting of that of a warrior/drone.
