Head cannon: changelings create a venom that acts like a knock out drug that does better then any medical anesthesia out there. papi actually has a small stockpile of the stuff, and she plans to send it to be researched for medical purposes, and if its approved she plans to distribute it to hospitals across equestria.

This is a fairly common headcanon for changelings, but it is one that I actually loathe.
For Papi canon there isn’t much evolutionary use for an anesthetic venom as the changelings don’t need to incapacitate ponies or other creatures in order to feed. Instead of anesthetic venom, many changelings can and will regurgitate acidic bile in order to burrow or escape from various issues.
