It’s a possibility, and one that I feel like I’ve seen elsewhere.  Because changelings, in Papi canon, can experience love, and thereby produce the love energy that other changelings feed off of there is no inherent need for such ‘carriers’.  The idea is a solid one, and one often implemented, just not one that I use.
