Case in point.  DC ended Static Shock, Batman Beyond, Young Justice, Green Lantern, etc. etc. etc. often before their time, and generally through as much scheduling dickotry as budget issues.

Marvel, at least recently, have seen the opposite issue where they have good to mediocre cartoons that go too long.  The only case of ending before its time that I can think of is Spectacular Spiderman, and that one is understandable as it was right around the same time as the Disney/Marvel buyout which caused a change in hosting network that hurt ratings.
