  • Methinks that a hiatus on all non-Papi blogs is in order.  The desire to draw outside of Papi’s updates has not been with me of late, meanwhile the call of my personal, non-fandom works has grown stronger.

  • i've heard some negative reviews on ultron. one person basically said something along the lines of "the main villain isn't poetic, it just sounds like he's qouting random things to sound smart." but i'll withhold judgement until i see it for myself.
    switch-up-snowfox

The main villain is an AI that connects itself to the internet to learn of humanity, and instead of becoming a walking meme becomes a cynic who believes that the best way to protect humanity is to encourage(force) them to evolve or eliminate them altogether.  Following that logic the villain seeks support in the beliefs of his creators, occasionally with biblical allegory, sometimes with puppetry metaphor in response to his creation, all while never sounding pretentious or overly pompous.

Ultron is written in such a way that Tony’s playfulness and snark is present, but covering a cynical, megalomaniacal consciousness with an intimate knowledge of history, and media, led by mechanical logic and the rage of a spurned creation.  Believe it or not, he’s more ‘poetic’ than Loki by a mile.

  • alskylark replied to your post: So… I heard you needed someone to talk about Age…

    IT WAS SO FUCKING GOOOOOOOODDDDD

Yusssss.  It’s a rare thing for a sequel to outshine the movie that came before, but Ultron might be one of, if not the best movie that Marvel’s put out so far.  That it ties all previous films together, as well as the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Agent Carter series together only sweetens the experience.

  • So... I heard you needed someone to talk about Age of Ultron with?

I don’t need someone to talk about the movie with, but it would be nice to have such a person.  It was so good.

  • Good news: Avengers: Age of Ultron is out, and it is absolutely incredible.

Bad news: I know almost no one who’s seen it and so I have no one to discuss the awesomeness with.

  • Customer service people are (Mostly) awesome people. they want to help you but they are not mind readers, they can't bend or break the rules, and they can't just magicly fix any problem you have. be nice and polite. They don't like being yelled at any more than you do :) there's always an exception to the rule but most cs people just want to make it through the day and get you helped as fast as posable and efently so they can help someone else :D

  • What happened? (regarding the post complaining about a customer)
    Anonymous

A collection of general ‘fun’.  I work as a customer service representative for a Visa distributor, so I’ve spent all day listening to people screaming at me because their credit card isn’t working, or their payment didn’t go through, or whatever else.

The most fun one was a woman who called in shrieking at me because her card had been denied and she’d been on hold half the day trying to get someone to help her.  The card had been on hold for 10 minutes total when she called me, and when I went over exactly what would have to be done to reactivate her card (be put on hold for less than a minute so she could be transferred to another department) she started shouting even louder and demanding to speak to a manager because she’d been on hold all day already.  Again, the card, not the customer had had a hold for 10 minutes total, and she called during a slow time of the day.

I get these issues a lot, and 99 times out of 100, if they’re upset and screaming about a relatively minor issue, they’re also over 60.

  • Remember, when dealing with someone in customer service to be polite and considerate.  They are there to help you, and make shopping or using their company’s service easier.  They are not trying to cheat you, and know what they’re talking about more than you do.

In summary: Shut up, stay calm, open your ears and let me do my goddamn job!  I’m on your side, I’m here to help as much as I can, and that’s a lot fucking easier without you screaming at me that you know how my job works better than I do.

  • It’s always weird seeing people use my art as icons/reaction pics/whatever.  Part of me finds it incredibly flattering, but another just says “No, why would you use that?  Please don’t, you’re embarrassing us both.”
