That would be absurdly destructive. There is already Chintin to fill the spot of giant changeling, and we can’t forget Buzz Buzz who is already the Moon Moon of the hive.

There is a group RP chat on skype for many people who have joined the hive. It was there that Poison Joke was banned after one Fickle Aura decided to ambush many members of the hive, including Papi, with the flower. Chaos ensued and Poison Joke was banned.

Changelings feed off of love because it can be produced by the changelings or others, and as such is rapidly renewable. Without love, a changeling can and will eat most anything, even cats.
There are some changelings who prefer to eat meat, or maintain their old diets, on top of consuming love. Others enjoy gnawing on substances that most changelings wouldn’t try to eat, like gemstones. Right, ruuqo? -
Head cannon: cats are banned from the hive because they just don't like changelings for some reason.
Eh, if anything cats would avoid the hive out of fear of being eaten.

Head cannon: papi has a few favorite drones in the hive, especially when it comes to... *ahem* "making eggs." she doesn't say it but sometimes she thinks that a few drones are better in bed then others.
Eeyup, though many drones have not been with Papi in that way. Those who she favors know who they are.

Although I disagree with most headcannons as they usually stray from the show's cannon, I still have some of my own I can supply. -- Changelings tend to keep themselves hidden away and unavailable to the outside world. Their main ability is disguise which requires secrecy to pull off. This means they usually destroy evidence, burn science equipment, or obliterate witnesses who could threaten the hives only advantage.
This is largely true for Papi’s hive canon, though not because the changelings consider secrecy an advantage, but a necessity. Due to their appearance, history, and feeding habits changelings have long been regarded as monsters, demons, and abominations, and have been hunted as such more than once.
Changelings before Chrysalis’s brash invasion would hide not because it made feeding easier, but because it was pivotal to their survival as a species.
Also, I share your issue with headcanons, which is why I try and build mine with as much support from the show as possible where I can. -
head cannon: it is possible for changelings to learn unicorn magic like teleportation, however they find it sometimes harder to do so unless they already know it. even more so if they weren't unicorns before they converted. (boy I am just coming up with all kinds of head cannons.)
Unicorn magic is not overly difficult to learn for a changeling, in fact it’s no more difficult for a changeling to learn than it is for a unicorn. The only difference is that changeling drones have substantially smaller fonts, or magical reserves, with which to use magic
