This isn’t because Burger King is nicer in Denmark. It’s the law, and the US is actually the only so-called “developed” country that doesn’t mandate jobs provide a minimum amount of paid vacation, sick leave, or both.

5 weeks paid vacation…..Wow. After 6 years at my store I’m getting 7 days paid vacation next week. For less than $9/hr. But, you know, raising the minimum wage or considering such jobs deserving of a living wage is absurd in America.
