It can be difficult figuring out how aspects of different canons, worlds and universes could work out. Case in point: How Raricow’s magic milk (the cowening) could effect changelings from Papillon’s Hive:
[The magic in the milk is tied to the milk, but not affected by its digestion so much as it is its consumption. With a changeling’s hyperactive metabolism a changeling would be likely to consume a large amount of milk without intending to, so I suppose the magic would hit them just as hard as any other. So, cow-bug-horses. That being said, changelings, being insect-like, do not have natural mammary glands and don’t produce milk in their natural state. So, the cowening could cause mammaries to develop to a smaller degree than in other subjects, or it could just cause them to change their proportions in the appropriate areas. How much that would affect them, and the permanence of the effect is difficult to say due to their shapeshifting nature.
As I said, different canons and ones that have some slightly conflicting aspects. A changeling’s shapeshifting could allow them to revert back to their preferred form and make it permanent, thereby nullifying the cowening, or the magic could overtake their base form, leaving them part cow.
I may need to consider mixing the two blogs together at some point, probably for some well timed joint milestone, if that happens.
