I’m more wondering why DC is making a Suicide Squad movie. Trying to do the same thing as Guardians of the Galaxy?

Potentially, but the two aren’t really comparable.  Guardians was a really under-the-radar property to most people, but this Suicide Squad movie is set to have Joker and Harley Quinn, two of the most recognizable comic characters period.  As far as Will Smith as Lawton goes I’m just confused as to why they’ve cast a very well known and recognizable actor who’s usually typecast as the outspoken, snarky character to play a character who’s generally quiet, collected, and has his face covered.  That they’ve cast Smith to play Lawton, who is generally portrayed as white when there are more than a few black villains in DC’s rogues gallery doesn’t help my confusion.
