Hey, if you want to help people out if your own free will, spending your own time and money, that's fine. But you shouldn't force people to carry the weight of others.

So you’ve resorted to changing topics to another shitty topic rather than keeping to the original debate

Nice evasive tactic there

The entire purpose of establishing a government and society is to allow individuals to receive their basic needs and the protection that is found in a group.  Following that, having the government, especially one that was formed ‘by the people, for the people’ provide the basics for its people so that they can thrive on their own is a given.  Sadly it’s a given that is blasphemous to some, like kaiuchiha15.

Newsflash, a vast majority of taxes in America go towards defense spending, an amount that is rather controversial given the state of the country and its international relations and policies.  That spending is covered by taxes from the American people whether they want it to be or not.  They are forced to pay for the defense of a country that has not been attacked by a foreign country for more than 70 years, but has entered and engaged in multiple foreign conflicts.

Why is it so hard to think that maybe a part of what goes into that could be relocated into providing for the people of the country itself?  Why is it so difficult to believe that people could do more and work harder if they are properly housed and fed without worrying about when their next meal is or whether they’ll have enough to manage both rent and food?
