Just got back from Doctor Strange.  Yes it’s an origin story, and yes it’s somewhat formulaic for that reason, but where it’s the same it acknowledges and plays with the similarities, and where it’s different it’s extremely different.  Visually it’s mind-boggling, and there are many instances that would spin the head of M. C. Escher, and well worth the ticket price for that alone.
