    This is very true.  Changelings are not a common species, and as such are fiercely protective of the next generation.  While some hives rely upon outside love to sustain themselves, they are very loathe to leave their young alone to feed, and will instead gather love from outside to feed them later.

    It is generally safer and more accepted to take love from within the hive than risk the nymphs and hatchlings through taking love from ponies.
