Nintendo doesn’t make the pokemon games. Game Freak does. Game Freak has last say on everything pokemon. And to be fair on nintendo, they’re kind of in the hole in the whole income thing

That’s true, as far as the creation goes, but Pokemon is still licensed and published by Nintendo.  Besides, while Nintendo has not been turning profits in the last few years, they do have DECADES of income surplus to rely upon should the need arise.

Nintendo can afford to laugh off a bad generation, or even two, because their games and systems last, as do their profits.
